Kelly and Jorge got married in a sweet backyard wedding in Denver that was basically amazing. But if you are going to travel from California to have a Colorado wedding, you gotta get some photos in the mountains! So we decided to do a day after session in Rocky Mountain National Park. This is PART TWO of their two location shoot. We started in Moraine Park, which is basically a fairy tale setting with running water and little wild flowers everywhere. There’s typically deer and elk grazing in the background. It is an idyllic setting to run around have fun with your best friend. In part two, we headed to Trail Ridge Road for these epic photos.
Trail Ridge Road is up at 12,000 feet above sea level. It is cold, and it is windy, but it is amazing!
And now for some Q&A from the ethereal Kelly…
How did you and your fiancé meet?
After I moved to CA he emailed me and somehow we started chatting over work email about dreams and living life to the fullest and such. Next thing I knew I invited him to come explore my new home in CA with me. Didn’t really think he’d take me up on it but 2 weeks later he was getting off a plane… We spent the weekend talking on the beach, hiking up mountains, drinking, dancing, laughing, eating lots of fish tacos… he even helped me grocery shop for the upcoming week. We just hit it off…
How did your fiancé propose?
Jorge proposed when we were in Cinque Terre Italy on vacation. We spent the day hiking between the villages and lounging my the sea. Then we went back up to our little Bed and Breakfast on the cliff overlooking the sea to shower before dinner. We stopped to grab a few proseccos at a little shop on the way up, thought something might be up…. At sunset he proposed. It’s kind of all a blur but I remember it was just him, me, the sea, the sun and the moon… pretty much all my favorite things.
What are your favorite things to do together?
Hang at coffee shops, go on little adventures (really doing just about anything in nature- hike, run, bike), travel, cook, eat pizza and tacos, go to breweries, sing and dance in the living room, just talk about whatever, be close to each other while working on our own things, dream about the future then take steps to make it happen, snuggle…
