When one of your favorite friends is super pregnant and super gorgeous, you fly out to Florida to photograph her maternity session! Blythe and I met when I lived in Florida, and I loved being there to photograph this milestone in her life. She was 35 weeks along in these photos, and she was glowing! This is Blythe and Ed’s first child, and I couldn’t be more excited for these two. Just wait until you see how beautiful and happy they look in these photos!

What is the baby’s name, and is their any family significance?
Edward Christopher Wimp
The baby is the fifth Edward in the father’s family line. The baby’s maternal grandfather’s middle name is Christopher, and Blythe’s middle name is Christine.
Blythe, what was your favorite thing about being pregnant?
Feeling close to the baby and selfishly not having to share him. I felt the best during the 2nd trimester. I had a lot of energy and was able to workout. I began to show during the 2nd trimester and morning sickness went away.
My favorite moment was during the 3rd trimester when he started to really move and grow stronger. We loved seeing the 3D ultrasound when we could really see his facial features and appearance.
What was your least favorite thing about being pregnant?
The 1st trimester morning, afternoon, and night sickness was rough and I was not prepared. It felt like being car sick, sea sick, and having one too many drinks at the same time. I had more food aversions than I had cravings.
In the 3rd trimester there was increased pressure on my bladder, resulting in frequent trips to the restroom and way too many close calls.
What are you most looking forward to as being a mom/dad?
Blythe: As a first time mom, I am looking forward to getting to meet my baby for the first time, look him in the eyes, and hold him.
Ed: As a first time father, I am looking forward to reading to my son, playing music to him, and watching him grow into an intelligent person.
What advice would you have to give to other future moms/dads to be?
Blythe: I would advise to document the pregnancy well by taking a lot of photos. You don’t realize how much your body changes and it is nice to look back on professional photos as well as your own personal photos and see the growth of your baby bump.
Ed: The average man gains 11-14 pounds during his partner’s pregnancy. Get a gym membership!
