This Yosemite adventure engagement session was one for the books!
A few hours before this engagement session was supposed to start, the skies opened up and rain started pouring down in the Yosemite Valley. I had to run to Natalia and Chase’s tent in the rain, jumping over puddles, to give them umbrellas so we could get them to our car. And then we lost time trying to get out of our campsite because traffic was so backed up. Apparently everyone was trying to leave the valley at the same time as us. But we persevered! We changed plans at the last minute and went to a different location. The rain stopped just for us, it seemed, and we had a perfect engagement session.
It hadn’t rained in Yosemite in two months, and there was no warning that it was going to rain that afternoon. The weather reports all said partly cloudly, even as it was pouring. Natalia and Chase probably thought I was crazy when I showed up soaking wet with umbrellas and said we’re still doing this. But I love problem solving, I love back up plans. I love a good challenge because rewards are so much sweeter when you have to work for them.

Anyone can go to Yosemite and have their engagement photos taken on a sunny summer day. But not everyone can say that they got ready at a campsite in the pouring rain, and then through puddles and dodge giant rain droplets, not knowing what the heck the evening would bring.
Behind all these epic photos you see are crazy stories and experiences that are just as important as the photos themselves. I’ll never forget this adventure with Natalia and Chase in Yosemite.
