Katy and Justin drove all the way from Albuquerque for their Rocky Mountain National Park engagement session. Since these two are from New Mexico, which is a desert landscape, they really wanted some place green to take their engagement photos. So I spent some time driving and hiking around the park and scouted out some potential new locations. We ended up settling on this spot, which we had all to ourselves! We had a blast exploring and I loved getting to know these two. The awesome thing about engagement sessions is that you really get to hang out and get to know each other. That way, when the wedding day comes, it’s like hanging out with old friends.
So not only was I lucky enough to photograph Katy and Justin’s Rocky Mountain National Park engagement session, but I also photographed their gorgeous wedding in Durango, CO, which I can’t wait to blog soon!
Now for some quick Q&A from the gorgeous Katy…
How do you and your fiancé first meet?
We met at a country bar here in Albuquerque.
How did your fiancé propose?
Justin planned a little “staycation” at the Tamaya Resort and he made reservations at their restaurant and proposed when dessert came out.
What are your favorite things to do together?
We love to travel and do adventurous outdoor activities together.
Thanks again to Katy and Justin for driving such a long way for this Rocky Mountain National Park engagement session!! And thank you for inviting me to photograph your wedding in Durango! Stay tuned for a blog post about their gorgeous wedding soon! I can’t wait to share more from this amazing couple.
