Happy first birthday to Hazel & Lace Photography!

I’ve been shooting weddings since 2014, but last summer I decided it was time to rebrand and start from scratch. Hazel & Lace Photography was born, and it’s hard to believe that this journey started only one year ago. So much has happened in the past year, it feels like I’ve been doing this forever! In honor of H&L’s first birthday, I decided to create a list of all the exciting things that have happened as this business has grown over the past year.

I have attended three, soon to be five workshops. The knowledge I obtained from these workshops was priceless! I want to give a big thank you to Sadi Alford of Whimsie Studios, who helped motivate me to rebrand my photography business and basically start over. I flew out to California to attend her workshop last July, and I’ve been hustling ever since! I also want to thank Tyler Rye Photography for his workshop last fall where I took the most amazing photos in Zion National Park. That was such an amazing experience that I will never forget, and those images helped bring my portfolio to another level. And I also want to thank Carrie King Photographer, who really helped me step up my film knowledge to another level.

Highlights

Over the past year on instagram, I went from having zero followers to over 1700. Instagram has become my favorite marketing tool! I have met so many cool brides, photographers, and vendors through this app. Thank you to all my amazing Instagram followers!!

I photographed 6 engagement shoots, and have many more on the books!

I photographed 4 weddings so far and booked a total of 12. Not bad for the first year!

I photographed 19 styled shoots. Holy moly! That’s a lot of gorgeousness.

In the past year, my images were published in 7 different blogs! Including Green Wedding Shoes! This is huge! My goal for 2017 was to be published just once, and I was published seven times! I am so thankful.

I also worked with some amazing vendors over the past year! Shout out to Lisa and Megan of Megan Cary Artistry for always making my models look amazing. Thank you to Rosie of Banister’s Flowers and Emma of Emma Leah Floral for providing some amazing bouquets! Thank you to Blue Bridal and Emma & Grace Bridal for always being there when I need a pretty gown. And thanks to Leticia of Urban Space Unlimited, who is always willing to let me use her space for a shoot. You guys have been amazing.
