Happy FOURTH birthday to Hazel & Lace Photography!
I’ve been shooting weddings since 2014, but I decided it was time to rebrand and start from scratch in the summer of 2016. Hazel & Lace Photography was born, and it’s hard to believe that this journey started only four years ago. In honor of H&L’s fourth birthday and entering year five in business, I decided to create a list of all the exciting things that have happened as this business has grown over the past four years.
Year in Review
I photographed 16 portraits sessions, including adventure sessions, engagements, anniversary sessions, and day after sessions!
I photographed an editorial for Rocky Mountain Bride in Taos, New Mexico, which will be featured in their print magazine this month.
I photographed 27 weddings and elopements in the past year and have many many more on the books! Weddings are definitely what I live for, and I have been so lucky to meet so many amazing couples.
I have continued mentoring fellow photographers in business, posing, and shooting styles. I love sharing my knowledge and I hope to continue to build this aspect of my business in the future.
I traveled to Peru, Mexico, Boston, New Orleans, Arizona, Yosemite, Joshua Tree, Bermuda, San Diego, Big Sur, Wyoming, and all over Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico this past year. It has been amazing.
My images were published in a variety of wedding blogs, including Rocky Mountain Bride and Wandering Weddings.
I won The Knot Best of Weddings 2020 award!
I stopped living the nomad life and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in January.
What the future holds…
There’s a lot of exciting things happening with Hazel & Lace Photography as I move into year five. After traveling full time in 2019, I have decided to “settle down” in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have a super cute studio apartment in a fun neighborhood, and I have used my recent down time to explore all the amazing landscapes that New Mexico has to offer. From 13,000 foot mountain summits to red rocks to white sands to meadows and aspen trees, New Mexico is friggin’ gorgeous and I hope to make it a more popular spot for elopements.
Obviously, COVID-19 has changed the world as we know it, and my business is included in that. In order to be as safe and responsible as possible, I have decided to book only elopements moving forward.
I’ll continue growing my mentorship program by offering 1:1 styled shoots and education this upcoming year, which I’m super excited about!
Thank you to all my amazing brides, grooms, couples, vendor friends, fellow photographers, and cheerleaders. I wouldn’t be able to do this without you!
xoxo Megan
