Hilary and Patrick traveled from Texas for their Taos, New Mexico elopement! They originally planned a large wedding in Maryland, but then COVID ruined the party and made them postpone. Luckily, love always finds a way so they decided to plan an elopement on their original wedding date. When I arrived at their super cool earthship, it was raining and incredibly windy. But we persevered, and right before they were set to say their vows, the rain stopped and the wind died down. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. After their sweet ceremony amongst the sagebrush in the desert, they went back to their AirBNB and signed their marriage license, shared some yummy pastries from Michael’s Kitchen, cut a delicious cake from Cid’s, and then we headed up into the mountains.
The cool thing about elopements in Taos, New Mexico is that you get a huge mix of landscapes. For Hilary and Patrick, we started in the desert but then drove up into the Rocky Mountains so they could pop champagne and have their first dance together. Taos is also home to tons of funky places to stay. Hilary and Patrick chose an earthship through AirBNB, which is an off-grid, solar-powered house made of all natural and up-cycled materials. You’ll only find these in Taos, New Mexico!
Congratulations to Hilary and Patrick. I’m so excited we could still get you married in a safe and epic way during this crazy pandemic.
