It’s about time I blogged this amazing day with Clare and Neal! These two had a whirlwind romance that ended with a sweet courthouse wedding, but no photos to show for it! And then they found out they were pregnant! So we planned engagement photos, pregnancy announcement photos, family photos, and a bridal session in Rocky Mountain National Park, all in the same day. And it was awesome!!! Clare and Neal have a sweet baby due in April and I wish them nothing but happiness!

How did you and your husband meet?

We met through a mutual friend that set us up.

How did he propose?

He didn’t! We started talking about getting married on our fourth date, but we both “knew” the night we met each other. We ended up getting married at the Denver Courthouse 52 days after we met, without a true proposal or wedding rings. We just couldn’t wait to be married! Once we had been married for a few months, he took me up to Flagstaff mountain for a nice dinner at the Flagstaff House before he went out of town for work. I thought he was just planning a special night, but dropped down to one knee in the middle of the restaurant and had my dream ring in his hand! We did it different than most, but it couldn’t have been more special or meaningful!

What was your favorite part of your wedding day?

The fact that it was just the two of us at the courthouse. We didn’t have to stress about flowers, weather, guests, anything. We closed on our house in the morning, went to the courthouse in the afternoon, then had our “reception” with martinis and steaks at a nice restaurant at night. All just the two of us. The best part was how supportive both of our families were. We are so lucky!

What was your favorite part of your wedding photos?

EVERYTHING! The fact that we got married in such an unconventional way, we only had one picture of us that day (at the courthouse, holding our marriage license). We loved that Megan was able to capture our love in the RMNP months later so we could have some memories of our “wedding”. We felt so comfortable with her and knew she was the perfect fit for us. I love that we have something to look back on and show our kids one day! It was also special because my parents were able to fly in from Michigan and take some family portraits with Neal, myself, and Neal’s parents. Megan was able to take our “engagement” pictures, wedding pictures… AND baby announcement pictures all in one day! A day we will never forget!

What do you look forward to the most in the future now that you’re married?

We have so much to look forward to now that we are married. We found out that we are pregnant and due in April, so we couldn’t be more excited to welcome Baby Martin! We just like to have fun together, and I know that will continue for years to come. You never know when or where you are going to meet the love of your life, and our story proves that to be true.
