I’m so excited to share these images with you guys! Melissa and Scotty are an adorable couple that are getting married in Grand Lake, CO in September. Scotty is a sixth generation Coloradoan! Can you believe it? Most people I meet around here are from out of state, but not Scotty, his family has been here forever! When deciding on a location for their engagement photos, it was a no brainer for them. They’ve spent a lot of time mountain biking around Red Rocks, so it was the perfect spot! We were threatened with a chance of rain during the shoot, but Melissa was brave and wanted to go for it! It was overcast but it didn’t end up raining until we were on our way back to the cars. I had so much fun with these too, and Scotty even told me he actually had fun, which is always the best compliment a photographer can get!
Here are some questions and answers from the adorable couple:
How did you and your fiance first meet?
We met on a river rafting trip on the Colorado River with a whole squad of Gunnison friends. We were on the same raft and encountered some carnage in a rapid. Both of us were tossed from the raft and I pulled her back in the boat after being rescued by the captain.
How did your fiance propose?
We were on vacation in the Fiordland region of New Zealand on a stunning alpine hike and he dropped down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes!
What are you most looking forward to when it comes to getting married?
Having our closest friends and family from all over the country and world all in one place to celebrate our huge love!
Thank you Melissa and Scotty, for making this shoot so much fun! I can’t wait to shoot your wedding this September!
